CEREC

CEREC is an acronym for CEramic REConstruction. CEREC is the state-of-the-art way to restore damaged teeth and is the most natural  restoration available today.

CEREC uses the proven technology of CAD/CAM (computer-aided design / computer-aided manufacturing) to incorporate a camera, computer and milling machine into one instrument.

This special camera takes a picture of your tooth so there’s no need for uncomfortable moulds or temporaries.

The picture is transferred to a computer, where we use CAD technology to design and CAM technology to mill the crown. It is then bonded to your tooth. This entire process is completed in one appointment.

The benefits of CEREC dentistry are many:

  • No more silver fillings: CEREC uses a high-quality ceramic material that is natural looking and color matched to your teeth.

  • Preserves your tooth:  Use of a CEREC crown requires less invasive trimming of the tooth. This, in combination with new bonding techniques, enables us to preserve more of your healthy, natural tooth.

  • Saves you valuable time:  Because there’s no longer the need to create temporary crowns or take impressions of your teeth and send them to a lab, the traditional second visit has been eliminated. The whole process is completed in just one appointment.

  • Biocompatible materials: CEREC crowns are fabricated with materials closer to natural enamel’s properties. They are plaque-resistant and compatible with your natural teeth.

  • Proven technology: CEREC crowns have been tested for more than two decades, with more than eight million precise, safe and effective procedures done worldwide.
